Operator Trainee Responsibilities
- Load and unload barges, railcars and trucks
- Gauge and water draw tanks
- Gather samples and submit to the lab for analysis
- Read and record tank temperatures
- Perform routine maintenance duties
- Inspect and monitor equipment
- Perform surveillance rounds
- Maintain good working relationships with co-workers and customers.
- Keep safe working habits and a "Safety First" attitude.
Operator Trainee Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in an industrial operations setting (refining, chemical or manufacturing).
- Knowledge of petroleum products helpful.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Demonstrated math skills.
- Must be a team player and have the ability to work well independently.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Required to climb tanks, towers, ladders and pipe racks.
