Position Summary :
The Product Certification Engineer is the subject matter expert regarding Ergotron product safety and environmental certifications. They ensure Ergotron products meet or exceed applicable safety and environmental standards and coordinate electrical and mechanical system certification with Nationally Recognized Test Labs. Both domestic and international certifications are within their scope. The Certification Engineer supports the design and development of electrical and mechanical components ensuring they comply with applicable safety and environmental standards. They collaborate with customers, management, engineering, legal, and other business partners on matters pertaining to product certification. They host on-site and virtual audits as needed to support these areas.
Position Responsibilities :
- Coordinate with Nationally Recognized Test Labs to obtain product safety and environmental certifications for products over the entire product life cycle.
- Keep informed of all safety and environmental standards applicable to Ergotron products.
- Aid in developing Ergotron policies and procedures pertaining to product safety and environmental standards.
- Participate in industry standards committees involved in developing policies and standards.
- Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, safety codes, and customer requirements.
- Support factory surveillance audits for certified product.
- Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Supports "Lean Business Enterprise" initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste elimination.
- Travel as needed to coordinate product testing and new product qualifications. Generally, travel is limited to local test labs.
- Additional duties as requested.
