We are looking for experienced Compliance Counsel to support Market Area North America, one of Ericsson’s largest and most strategic market areas. You will be part of a dynamic team that is pivotal in maintaining Ericsson’s Ethics and Compliance Program and responsible for providing tactical advice to business and organizational units across North America on anti-bribery and corruption and fraud prevention. You will develop strategic partnerships and work closely with other functions in the region and globally, including senior leadership, to implement and enhance our compliance program and related initiatives. This role requires a strategic leader with strong subject matter expertise, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
The role reports to the Head of Compliance Market Area North America (MANA). The position is listed as located in Plano, Texas. The position will be hybrid (combination of in office and remote).

What you will do
- Lead in developing a culture of compliance, setting an example for transparency and promoting an environment where speaking up to raise compliance concerns is encouraged.
- Implement initiatives to strengthen the culture of ethics and integrity, particularly as to fraud prevention, anti-bribery and corruption, and compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
- Handle compliance related topics requiring application of legal, regulatory and policy considerations.
- Independently handle and manage several matters at one time, prioritizing matters based on risk and importance.
- Lead, plan, and execute programmatic initiatives or solutions to compliance problems, evaluating the facts, applicable laws or policies, and the risks of potential solutions.
- Draft clear written summaries of factual situations, risk analyses, justifications, and recommendations for decision.
- Provide concise, accurate and clear updates about compliance matters and prepare presentations (verbally and in writing) as needed to stakeholders.
- Oversee and advise one or more Customer or Business Units (CUs) within the United States and Canada and collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., management, business, legal, ICS, sourcing and HR colleagues, compliance network) but also external stakeholders, such as customers and other third parties in relation to compliance needs.
- Provide concise, accurate and clear updates to management teams, the compliance organization and others as needed regarding relevant compliance information, including analysis of compliance risks and trends, updates to the compliance program, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in area of responsibility, and other pertinent topics.
- Maintain a sound understanding of the local business activities and Ericsson business processes, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g., management, legal, ICS, sourcing and HR colleagues, compliance network) but also external stakeholders, such as customers and other third parties in relation to compliance demands.
- Assess risks including the likelihood and severity of the risks, develop measures to mitigate risks, and ensure implementation.
- Identify local / unit compliance priorities; plan and prioritize activities based on risk on a prescribed cycle (e.g., development of annual compliance plan).
- Contribute to the development of compliance-related Group steering documents and assist in implementation in the Market Area where needed.
- Identify local Compliance risks and requirements and ensure appropriate systematic mitigation.
