Description : The Role
Erie Home seeks a dedicated Sr. Vice President Talent & Human Resources who will lead, develop, and execute the talent management and human resources strategy for the company. The Sr. Vice President Talent & HR will play a pivotal part in achieving the vision of the talent and human resources team focusing on impacting, retention, performance management, recruitment, training and development. This individual will be responsible for collaborating across the organization to develop and drive the vision and strategy to improve human resources processes, enhance talent acquisition and retention, and lead talent and growth initiatives while monitoring performance management for the organization. She / he will be instrumental in building a world class talent management organization designed to scale with Erie’s growth plans. This strategic leader will demonstrate the ability to provide direction in talent management as well as an adeptness at evaluating current human resources practices, identifying best practices, promoting innovative solutions, and serving as a member of the Executive Leadership Team. This leader will play a key role in helping Erie achieve its strategic objectives of delivering an unmatched customer and employee experience fueling our continued growth.
As a strategic leader, the Sr. Vice President Talent & HR will be tasked to deliver top human capital results while maintaining a collaborative workplace environment. She / he will employ a thoughtful strategy for responding to changes in the marketplace, competitive factors, and trends while continuously exploring new opportunities for process improvement. The Senior Vice President Talent & HR will strive to improve the strategy and performance the human resources organization fostering employee and candidate engagement. She / he will continue to develop and implement the company’s human capital strategies and directly impact the investment in all future initiatives. The role will be based in Toledo, Ohio at the company headquarters. The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
Requirements :
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Partner with executives and senior leaders of the company to grow and scale a best-in-class People & Workplace experience in the business.
- Collaborate with key members of the Executive Leadership Team to expand the talent acquisition strategy to support rapid growth in both new and existing markets, ensuring scalability and alignment with Erie’s strategic goals. This will include working with in-house recruiters and external platforms and agencies to recruit for new field offices (including W2 employees and 1099 / 3508 independent contractors), call center, and corporate across all functions in a high-growth business.
- Develop and evolve talent management process and framework that retains, develops, and rewards top talent and drives employee satisfaction programs to reduce voluntary turnover.
- Develop and lead employer branding efforts to raise the profile of Erie Home and drive Erie’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Drive the development of appropriate behavioral, personality, and aptitude assessments as part of employee growth and development.
- Lead the development of a cohesive Environmental, Social, and Governance program in collaboration with Legal and Compliance.
- Drive Erie employer brand recognition and reputation with current and prospective employees and third-party reps and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with employment regulations across all states, including worker classification (e.g., employee vs. independent contractor), workplace safety standards (OSHA), workers' compensation requirements, and other applicable labor laws.
- Leverage workforce analytics to inform talent strategy, improve recruitment and retention outcomes, and monitor HR effectiveness through key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Continually evaluate, plan, develop, organize, implement, and direct the organization's human resource functions including employee relations, learning and development, total rewards, payroll administration, etc.
- Lead the implementation and execution of the total rewards (compensation and employee benefits) leveraging external broker expertise and internal employee feedback to establish a relevant and market-competitive program
- Lead the compensation and employee benefits strategy for the company
- Drive continuous improvement in HR technology systems, including payroll and HRIS, to enhance the employee experience, increase efficiency, and support data-driven decision-making. This will include managing high-performing technology in payroll and HRIS systems, placing an emphasis on user experience / self-service and analytics, and using the technology to scale HR capabilities.
- Work with the executive leadership team to advance planned new office expansion and proactively recruit, train, promote, and relocate personnel to ensure successful office openings.
- Work with business heads and regional managers to lead the replacement and upgrading of talent as needed proactively.
- Continuously assess and refine compensation structures and incentive programs to align with business strategy, drive performance, and support the attraction, retention, and engagement of top talent,
- Lead the executive leadership team in talent assessment and organizational strategy including organizational design, personnel training, and recruitment for new product and service expansions.
- Enhance effective communication between HR, people leaders, and all employees as the organization expands and ensure continued excellent employee relations.
- Update current employee manual with respect to law and policy changes and ensure compliance with changing regulations (that may vary by state) for W2 employees and 1099 contractors.

Candidate Profile and Requirements :
The ideal candidate holds a BA or MBA degree and has 10 years of related talent acquisition and human resource experience. She / he thrives in a complex growth and customer service environment and has a strategic mindset as well as a long history of successful talent leadership. This candidate ideally possesses experience leading a staffing organization for a $600M company with a strong customer focus. Prior executive experience as a Vice President, Talent in a large organization (or division) with broad responsibility and change management expertise is essential. The candidate will work closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Regional Sales and Installation leadership. She / he will strategically and tactically run retention, training, employee engagement, and human resources strategy for a high-growth business. She / he will be positioned to collaborate to ensure an effective recruitment approach for the company.
Additionally, she / he will need an exceptional skill set around all aspects of HR technologies, human capital, compensation and benefits, social media marketing, and retention strategies.
