Overview
The Chaplain plays a vital role in providing spiritual support and guidance to individuals housed in a Youth Detention Facility. Duties
- Provide bereavement support to individuals coping with loss.
- Offer spiritual care and counseling to individuals housed at the detention facility.
- Mentor individuals seeking spiritual guidance or support.
- Manage conflicts with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Communicate effectively with administrators
- Implement crisis management strategies during critical situations.
- Demonstrate leadership within the organization by promoting a culture of compassion and understanding.
- Consults with other Chaplains and institution administrators in the coordination of religious program and its relationship to the overall function of the facility.
Skills
- Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of their religion.
- Good knowledge of welfare and penal laws and institutions.
- Strong ability in bereavement support to assist individuals through grief.
- Proficient in conflict management techniques.
- Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with diverse populations.
- Expertise in crisis management to handle emergencies with calmness and clarity.
