Description of the Job:

  • The Fiscal Supervisor provides direct supervision to Fiscal staff.
  • The Fiscal Supervisor performs, directs, coordinates, monitors and manages a variety of fiscal duties under the supervision and direction of the Deputy Director of Finance. The Fiscal Supervisor prepares and oversees the preparation of various fiscal reports, records, and analyses.
  • The Fiscal Supervisor writes, develops, and monitors contracts and other agency related documents.
  • The Fiscal Supervisor implements accounting/auditing procedures and assists the Deputy Director of Finance in fiscal planning.
  • The Fiscal Supervisor performs financial tracking including monitoring budgetary expenses, purchase orders, and various other fiscal processes.
  • The Fiscal Supervisor acts as payroll backup for the Payroll Coordinator and acts as backup to the Deputy Director of Finance in their absence.
  • Attends various meetings and training sessions.

Essential Functions to be Performed:

  • Month end fiscal duties
  • Process invoices
  • Track purchase orders
  • Perform fiscal duties as directed by the Deputy Director of Finance
  • Maintain knowledge of fiscal coding
  • Work in the county finance systems
  • Communicate with county agencies
  • Maintain budget balances
  • Perform public relations functions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Finance or a related field and/or 10 years fiscal experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Erie County resident preferred

Physical requirements:

  • Alternate between sitting/standing/walking throughout an eight (8) hour workday
  • Lift/carry a minimum of eight (8) pounds
  • Climb onto a stepladder (2 steps)
  • Reaching with bilateral upper extremities into/up to/down to various heights
  • Push/pull with twenty (20) pounds of initial force
  • Bend/squat/crouch/kneel

Pay: $22.57 - $32.55 per hour
