POSITION : Business Development Representative

STATUS : Full-time / Exempt / Hybrid eligible

REPORTS TO : Director of Business Development

MANAGES : None

FACILITIES : All Erie Events managed properties

SALARY : $40,000 - $60,000 plus 5% commission w / Comprehensive benefit package

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Business Development Representative will execute trade show and booth sales for all Erie Events produced shows, including but not limited to, the Erie Home Show, The RV and Boat Show and Erie Comicon. This position will establish relationships with local companies, individuals and groups within the community and provide superior levels of service with current and prospective clients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Identify prospects, solicit, and secure consumer show vendors.
  • Identify prospects, solicit, and secure group sales for family shows and events.
  • He / she will assist the Director of Business Development & Sponsorships in identifying prospects, solicit, and securing sponsor partners. This includes but is not limited to : Broadway in Erie, and 8 Great Tuesdays.
  • Proactive in-person visits to prospects.
  • Efficiently respond to incoming inquiries.
  • Cultivate and enhance relationships with an expansive network of business leaders, community liaisons, and group leaders.
  • Assist marketing team with the creation of marketing materials for solicitation and outreach.
  • Assist with creating proposals for potential sales and sponsorships.
  • Provide comprehensive and timely reports summarizing activity and progress towards goals.
  • Responsible for follow up with trade show vendors to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain organized records related to all tradeshow and group sales.
  • Responsible for outbound cold calls to generate new business.
  • Develops and maintains a harmonious working relationship with all the other departments.
  • Works extended and / or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related subject preferred.
  • One - two years' experience in sales.
  • Must be a self-starter, proactive and driven with a strong sense of urgency and consistent follow through.
  • Superior communication and writing skills.
  • Be timely, punctual and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Must have great organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hour as needed.
