Supervisor of K-8 Content
Summary: To improve academic achievement for all District students by providing
leadership and assistance to building educational leaders while supporting
implementation of Erie’s Public Schools Strategic Plan.
Reporting Relationship: Director of Educational Services
Essential Functions:
Assist in district curriculum adoption and implementation including core
subjects, electives, and related arts
Provide professional development to establish research based best practices
Assist in the creation of visions for learning
Assist in setting expectations for all new curriculum adoptions and
implementations
Establish a framework for curriculum mapping to include overviews,
standards/Eligible Content, and assessments/performance tasks
Oversee curriculum committee work
Support implementation through walkthroughs
Support building administrators and ILTs throughout all phases of the
Pennsylvania School Improvement Planning process (Draft, Monitor, Revise)
Assist building administrators and ILTs in data-driven decision making utilizing
cycles of improvement
Support building administrators to plan and facilitate PLCs and professional
learning identified in school improvement plans and district initiatives
Collaborate with data analyst/evaluator/researcher and Educational Services
Team to continually monitor and evaluate the district’s
comprehensive assessment approach. (Diagnostic, Benchmark, Formative, and
Summative)
Support academic extended day and summer programs funded by the district
Support New Teacher Induction Programming
Work collaboratively with the Educational Services Team to plan and facilitate
professional learning
Assist in monitoring procedures for site-based materials replenishment of
curricular materials
Assist building administration with the Educator Effectiveness evaluation model
by completing formal observations and walkthroughs
Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, Assistant
Superintendent, and/or Director of Educational Services
Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s Degree in Educational Administration or related field
Experience:
Three to five years-experience in educational administration
Three to five years of school teaching experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Leadership skills including visioning, active listening, coaching, facilitation, and use of data for
decision making
Understanding of Erie’s Public School Strategic Plan
Ability to prioritize resources for continuous improvement
Knowledge of current educational research
Ability to work successfully with multiple education teams throughout the district
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to develop effective working relationships
Knowledge of academic standards and connection to educational equity
