This position requires advanced communication skills and follow-through. Not required to be a licensed optician. We will train you.
Responsibilities: Personally assist customers by giving prompt, courteous and professional service; assist customers in frame and lens selection, accurately complete all required paperwork, accurately measure and order customer spectacles. Handle customer questions and concerns in a professional and courteous manner. Follow proper procedures when accepting payments; act as cashier, handling monies accurately for customers and co-workers. Share store maintenance and cleaning duties with co-workers by maintaining well organized work areas, accurate store records and files, greeting customers, answering telephones, inputting data, dusting merchandise displays and vacuuming. Maintain and continually develop professional dispensing skills and knowledge. Maintain good working relationships with other employees, customers and vendors. Encouraged to participate in the optician apprenticeship program. Protect all company assets including inventory, cash, credit card drafts, bank deposits and equipment. Project a positive attitude toward all company objectives and directives; demonstrate teamwork at all times, including attendance at staff meetings and other training or company functions as required. Demonstrate dedication to honest and ethical business practices at all times. Uphold company standards to professional behavior in all business dealings.
Hours: full-time and part-time available. (flexible, determined at hire) A typical day might include helping with eyewear selection, submitting insurance claims, helping with customer care, caring for inventory, and answering phones.
Previous experience with a broad knowledge of vision (VSP, EyeMed, Superior, etc) insurances preferred, but we will train the right person for our team!

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Proven work experience as a Optical sales associate, Retail sales representative or similar role: 1 year (Required)
• Basic Math and Alphabetization skills
• Must present a fashionable and professional appearance
