- Serve as the go-to technical resource for the sales team, answering customer queries regarding product capabilities, performance, specifications and training.
- Analyze and understand customers’ needs to propose customized solutions that offer the best technical and cost-effective outcomes.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of our product offerings, including features, benefits, and applications, to recommend the most suitable solutions.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure proposed solutions are feasible, align with company capabilities, and comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Prepare and deliver technical documentation, like product specifications and user manuals.
- Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting after the sale to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Keep informed of new technologies, market trends, and competitor products to inform product development and improvement.
- Gather and analyze feedback from customers to enhance product offerings.
- Work with sales and marketing teams to create effective sales strategies.
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field OR equivalent work experience in the Sales or Engineering field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
- Experience in contract management, project management, or a related field.
- Comprehensive understanding of the company’s products, including technical specifications and applications. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering and design software.
- At least 3 years of experience in a technical sales or engineering role, with a demonstrated ability to solve customer problems. Previous experience as a Standards Engineer is a plus.
- Proficiency in technical documentation and proposal writing.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in an understandable manner.
- Excellent problem-solving skillscritical thinking skills and creativity in developing solutions to meet customer needs.
- High level of customer service orientation and the ability to foster long-term customer relationships.
- Collaborative mindset, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Initiative-taking with a strong drive to achieve sales and technical objectives.
- Adaptable to new technologies and evolving customer requirements.
- Familiarity with the power industry, transformer engineering, and transformer loading and its impact on utility systems and transformer lifecycle.
- Familiar with IEEE, NEMA, ANSI, CSA, and related industry standards. Additional knowledge of NEC, FM, and UL are a plus.
