Overview
This position will coordinate activities associated with inventory control by performing the duties listed below either personally or through other departments and supervisors.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement improvements to existing operational procedures.
- Write and maintain accurate procedures for all inventory control processes and functions.
- Perform Inventory cycle counts. Identify and implement methods for improvement.
- Implement and manage system controls for inventory storage and movement.
- Investigate and resolve inventory variances.
- Implement standard metrics for inventory accountability, including loss tolerances and improvement targets.
- Provide routine management information on inventory performance. Assist buyers in effectively managing stock levels.
- Standardize and improve inventory processes at all locations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred
- Minimum of five years’ experience in inventory management or supply chain; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Have a detailed understanding of MRP and inventory control/management systems and ERP.
- CPIM certification preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools is a plus.
- Possess strong skills in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently, and effectively with initiative and drive.
- Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
