ERMCO is looking to hire a summer intern to support our Information Technology team to work from May 2025 to August 2025.
Responsibilities
Below is a list of projects that the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on:
1. Data Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL)
• Extracting data from the legacy ERP system and staging it for migration.
• Writing SQL queries to validate and clean data before importing it.
• Assisting in data mapping between the old and new data structures.
2. Data Quality and Cleansing
• Identify duplicate, inconsistent, or missing records in the source system.
• Create data validation reports to flag potential problems before migration.
• Work with business users to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
3. Documentation and Process Improvement
• Document data transformation rules and migration scripts.
• Create a knowledge base for common data-related issues and solutions.
• Provide recommendations for improving data management processes.
4. Data Reconciliation and Audit Checks
• Develop scripts to compare record counts, totals, and key data fields between the old and new systems.
• Identify discrepancies and investigate potential causes.
• Automate data validation reports that flag missing or inconsistent records.
• Work with different teams to confirm business-critical data accuracy before go-live.
5. Master Data Management (MDM) and Standardization
• Analyze master data for duplicates, inconsistencies, and outdated records.
• Assist in developing naming conventions and data governance policies for the new system.
• Work with stakeholders to merge, update, or clean master data before migration.
• Help create a master data dictionary that defines key fields and their usage.
This work would be a mix of technical and analytical tasks, giving exposure to real-world data challenges in an enterprise environment. Plus, insight and exposure to see how large-scale ERP migrations work.
Qualifications
• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field holding a Junior or Senior standing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.• Strong communication skills
