Job Title: SAFe Agile Scrum Master
Location: Atlanta, GA (ATL) or Boca Raton, FL (BOC) preferred (Open to other East Coast time zone locations)
Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension)
Job Summary:
LexisNexis is seeking an experienced and highly motivated SAFe Agile Scrum Master to facilitate and guide multiple software development teams in the successful delivery of projects using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of at least 5 years of experience managing projects and multiple agile teams within a SAFe environment. This contractor will work with squads located in both the US and EU, requiring excellent communication and collaboration skills across different time zones and cultures.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a servant leader and coach for multiple agile teams, guiding them on SAFe principles and practices.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (e.g., daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives) for multiple teams.
- Facilitate and support the execution of Program Increment (PI) Planning events.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Identify and remove impediments and roadblocks that hinder team progress.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Promote continuous improvement within and across teams.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between teams.
- Ensure adherence to SAFe principles and guidelines.
- Track and report team progress and metrics.
- Support the development and maintenance of agile artifacts.
- Work effectively with geographically distributed teams in the US and EU.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Certified SAFe Scrum Master (CSM-SM or SSM).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Scrum Master in a SAFe Agile environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of overall experience managing projects and multiple teams using Agile methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience working with teams located in different geographical locations and time zones.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Must not have a history of frequent job changes ("not jumpy").
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within the LexisNexis domain or similar legal/information services industries.
- Experience with agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Additional SAFe certifications (e.g., SAFe Agilist, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager).
