UNITED LOCAL SCHOOLS
ELEMENTARY K-4 TEACHER
SUMMARY:
This person will be employed to fill an elementary teaching position at United Local School District with teaching responsibilities.
DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
1. Follow the district approved curriculum courses of study in all content areas
2. Develop and utilize instructional materials, media and technology appropriate to the subject matter and ability levels of the students
3. Recognize individual differences in students, and provide for those differences through a variety of instructional modes, including small group and individual work
4. Inform students and parents of teacher expectations and subsequently enforce classroom policy fairly and consistently
5. Conduct conferences and communicate with parents on a timely and needed basis throughout the school year
6. Perform such routine activities as maintaining classroom inventories, requesting goods and services and transmitting student and classroom reports on time
7. Be willing to participate in scheduled after school events that have a direct relationship with students and parents
8. Comply with established building and district level policies and procedures
9. Be willing to work cooperatively with all staff members using consensus and team building strategies
10. Complete other professional responsibilities as necessary and assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid Ohio Elementary Certificate/License Early Childhood (P-3), (Grades 1-8)
2. Have a valid Ohio license or endorsement in gifted education or is willing to obtain a gifted endorsement through at least fifteen clock hours of professional development in gifted education during each year over four years with additional clock hours each year thereafter as determined by the district. Gifted education hours are to be documented in the "Individual Professional Development Plan" (IPDP) or other methods as determined by the department.
3. Ability to work well with young people and provide a positive influence on their educational experience.
4. Ability to work cooperatively students, staff, parents, and community members
5. A willingness to engage in professional development activities
6. High personal and professional standards
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Effective Date: 2025-2026 School Year
2. Length of Employment: One year limited contract
3. Salary: Based on current negotiated salary and benefit schedule.
