QUALIFICATIONS:
- CDL license
- A satisfactory driving record
- Ability to use electronic communications
- Strong technical skills in the area(s) of Routing and GPS software (i.e., Transfinder)
- Previous experience in transportation coordination or logistics planning
- Previous experience as school bus driver
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures
- The ability to work with a broad range of individuals and organizations
- A current favorable state (BCI) and federal (FBI) background checks
- Plan, revise and update regular and emergency bus routes annually with student name, address, phone number, date of birth, and pick up and drop off times.
- Responsible for scheduling all extra bus trips.
- Monitor radio communication of bus drivers while running their routes.
- Maintain adequate records and complete all state reports correctly and on time.
- Schedule driver’s and sub driver’s annual physical at the end of the school year. Prepare T-8 physical forms to drivers prior to physicals.
- Notify drivers when they have been selected for random drug and/or alcohol testing.
- Maintain effective communications with building secretaries, principals, Athletic Director and Central office regarding any changes to regular transportation procedures.
- Verify all training, in-service, physicals, updates, bus evacuation drills, etc. as required for bus drivers.
- Maintain good public relations with parents, students, staff, and administration.
- Maintain all budget reports that are required by the state, treasurer’s, and superintendent’s office.
- Participate in safety plan development, coordination, implementation
- Prepare buses for spot and annual bus inspections as required by the Ohio State School Bus Inspections which are conducted twice per year in coordination with mechanic.
- Monitor all safety requirements that are mandated by the state and/or the Board of Education.
- Use and integrate Transfinder Software
