Full-time Paraprofessional/Educational Aide (Portage County)
Capstone Academy is an Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio (ESCNEO) program located in a residential facility in Portage County, serving PK-12 students with profound-intensive intellectual and physical disabilities as well as medically complex conditions.
Capstone Academy is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time Paraprofessional position for the 2025-2026 school year. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be willing to get an aide's license through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and pass a paraprofessional test after employment.
Main duties may include:
Perform a variety of schoolwide activities that support instructional programming.
Assist students with personal care (e.g., toileting).
Perform clerical work related to classroom activities. Maintain records as directed.
Help keep program areas orderly (e.g., cleans spills, sanitize equipment).
Assist in the supervision of students throughout the day.
Participate in all required training deemed appropriate for the position.
Maintain the confidentiality of privileged information.
Ability to work respectfully with a culturally diverse population of students.
Risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens, bodily fluids, and/or communicable diseases.
Ability to balance, bend, crouch, kneel, reach, and stand.
Ability to lift, carry, and move work-related supplies and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
Perform other specific job-related duties as directed.
