Our client is a high end bakery who is expanding in the Brookly, NY area. They are seeking a Bakery Production Lead to join the thriving Kitchen Department whose primary focus is baking, garnishing, and preparing their stations efficiently for bake days. This position will report to the Kitchen Production Manager. Our Cookie Baking Leads are responsible for overseeing their area and team members to ensure all the tasks of baking perfect luxury cookies at high volume run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
● Manage schedules and performance of Cookie Baking Associates
● Support the Kitchen Production Manager with ordering ingredients and supplies as needed
● Attend regular meetings with Kitchen Production Manager
● Maintain a sanitary and organized work environment in compliance with all standards
● Follow and comply with all established procedures, recipes, and guides, including but not limited to assembly, equipment SOPs, weights and measures, health and sanitation, and general safe work practices
● Meet production volume and production schedule while maintaining stringent adherence to quality standards for all cookies
● Monitor proper storage, FIFO, and shelf-life guidelines for all products and adhere to all appropriate health and safety regulations
● Knowledge and skill with a variety of kitchen tools and equipment, including but not limited to 140-quart mixers, dough sheeter, ovens etc.
● Able to monitor baking processes and identify issues and/or adjustments to adhere with quality standards
● Work with a sense of urgency and purpose to achieve daily, weekly, and long-term goals

● Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
● Must hold or obtain ServSafe Manager/Handler Certification within first month of employment
● Experience leading hourly employees, ideally in the food service industry
● Ability to work in fast pace environments
● Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach and perform repetitive motions for 8 hour work days
● Ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs
● Strong attention to detail
● Must be able to work days, weekends, and/or holidays as needed based on scheduled shifts
● Restaurant/Baker experience preferred
● Experience leading hourly employees, ideally in the food service industry
● Ability to work in fast pace environments
● Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach and perform repetitive motions for 8 hour work days
● Ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs
