Description
Our client is a high-end bakery located in the Brooklyn area. They are seeking a Manager / Senior Manager of Kitchen Operations, who is responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the efficient production of food items, managing kitchen staff, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and contributing to the strategic growth of the culinary department. This role involves coordinating production schedules, managing inventory, ensuring adherence to food safety standards, and optimizing kitchen processes to meet company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of kitchen production, ensuring the timely and efficient production of food items to meet demand.
- Manage and lead kitchen staff, including chefs, line cooks, and production assistants, ensuring proper training, development, and performance management.
- Collaborate with culinary leadership to create and refine menu items and production strategies.
- Develop production schedules to ensure all food products are prepared and ready for service according to specified timeframes.
- Maintain inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking raw materials to ensure kitchen supplies are available when needed.
- Monitor kitchen performance and implement strategies to improve efficiency, quality, and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards, including OSHA and local health regulations.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and tools in optimal working condition, overseeing maintenance and repair as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as purchasing and logistics, to streamline production and reduce costs.
- Track and report on production metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
- Manage kitchen budgets, ensuring that food production stays within cost targets.
- Foster a positive, productive work environment by motivating staff and promoting teamwork.
