HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST
Division: ESCO Group
Location: Marion
Reports to: Employee Experience Manager
Exempt or Non-Exempt: Exempt
Status: Full-Time
Typical Working Hours: 7:00am to 4:00pm
May be required to work extended hours including holidays and weekends due to the 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year type of service ESCO provides its clients.
Synopsis:
The HR Specialist is a business resource supporting ESCO Group with a strong emphasis on onboarding both Union and Non-Bargaining employees. Work executed will be within a multi-discipline Employee Experience team. This position requires acquisition and knowledge of multiple HR skills and technologies.
Background and Work Experience:
To be considered, candidates should have:
• Completion of an Associate’s degree program in human resources or related discipline from an accredited college, technical school, or university; or
• A combination of equivalent education and or experience will be considered with solid evidence of success.
• Experience in onboarding, human resources, or a similar role
• Demonstrated to be highly proficient with computer technologies including but not limited to, Windows Operating Systems, and the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred:
• Experience in human resources.
• Experience with Union new hires
Responsibilities and Duties:
The HR Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Administer testing/assessments, process background checks, extend job offers, process new hire paperwork, conduct new hire orientation, and onboarding process.
• Develop and update onboarding materials and resources.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
• Maintain employee records and enter data into spreadsheets and other human resources software packages.
• Assist with updates and revisions as needed in the Employee Manual, job descriptions, policies, and other documentation.
• Utilize, support, and enhance ESCO’s standards and best practices.
• Understand and follow all safety, conduct, and policy requirements established by ESCO and clients.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary by management.

Travel Required:
This position does not generally require overnight travel. Some daily travel may be required to other office locations, training, and seminars.
