ACCOUNT MANAGER
The Automation Account Manager is a key leadership role responsible for managing the delivery of large-scale industrial automation projects for external clients within our ESCO Automation Division. Based at our headquarters in Marion, Iowa, this position is essential to our commitment to excellence in project management and industrial automation services.
The Automation Account Manager ensures the successful execution of strategic projects, reinforcing our dedication to effectively and efficiently meeting our clients' needs. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of project management principles, along with the ability to provide both technical and strategic leadership.
The Account Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Manage multiple large-sized process control system integration projects of significant complexity simultaneously- -accountable at the highest level in the project management structure.
- Perform project management independently while adhering to scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
- Create and manage project tools, including plans, schedules, and budgets. Follow and maintain all established project management processes.
- Prepare client bid pre-qualification packages, estimates, and proposals, including compiling all relevant documents and materials to accompany them—review estimates prepared by others.
- Utilize accounting-related systems for accurately tracking and forecasting project performance compared to plan. Serve as the primary point of contact with accounting on assigned projects.
- Provide quality assessments of overall work performed by the team.
- May lead employee reviews and goal setting for all team members.
- Approve timecards, expenses, and leave for direct reports as needed.
- Provide guidance and training to others through mentoring and project leadership.
- Work with Client Success Managers to help develop and execute strategies to retain and improve business with key clients.
- Establish and maintain professional client relationships.
- Partner with other managers to ensure assigned projects are staffed correctly.
- Prepare and lead project meetings.
- Process change orders.
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree program in engineering from an accredited institution and ten years or more of related work or industry experience; OR a combination of equivalent education and experience will be considered with solid evidence of success.
- Experience in a project engineering or project services environment, including the following:
- Knowledge and familiarity with project management activities, including budgeting, defining and managing scope, risk management, and scheduling.
- Project team leadership.
- Project estimating, proposals, and working with clients during the sales process.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred:
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Access, and SharePoint.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience with Control Systems Integrators Association (CSIA) best practices.
- Demonstrated proficiency with two or more of the following: electrical design, PLC ladder logic programming, HMI programming, computer programming, or commissioning.
- Experience within the food, grain processing, seed, or other industrial process industries.
Travel Requirements:
- Candidates are expected to be open to occasional travel associated with the position, which may require up to 25%. This travel may include various activities, including on-site visits to client facilities, attendance at relevant meetings, and participation in project-related events.
