JOB SUMMARY
The School Psychologist is a key member of the Educational Service District 105 team, responsible for supporting student learning, mental, behavioral health, and social development. Utilizing a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), this role emphasizes the identification, evaluation, placement, and ongoing monitoring of students potentially eligible for special education services. The psychologist will focus on problem-solving, data-based decision-making, and delivering evidence-based interventions, ensuring services meet the diverse needs of students and families.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
A. Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations using a variety of assessment tools to assess students' academic skills, cognitive abilities, and emotional/behavioral status.
B. Provide detailed, organized, and educationally relevant evaluation reports. C. Support each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
D. Offer direct interventions to students, focusing on teaching and supporting pro-social behaviors and providing counseling as needed.
E. Develop and facilitate workshops and training sessions for parents and educational staff on effective strategies to support student success.
F. Act as a liaison to community resources, enhancing support networks for students.
G. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding special education eligibility and evaluation processes.
H. Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records as required by law and district policy.
I. Participate actively in school and district teams, contributing to problem-solving and the creation of new opportunities for student support.
J. Facilitate workshops and training for parents and educational staff.
K. Communicates effectively (both orally and in writing) and collaboratively with students, families and educational staff for the purpose of evaluating situations and solving problems and/or resolving conflicts.
L. Integrates evaluation data into clear, organized and educationally relevant evaluation reports.
M. Participate in data team meetings, department meetings, workshops and seminars as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions
N. Maintains records in an accurate and confidential manner consistent with applicable rules, policies and laws
O. Works as an active, contributing team member of school teams, regional teams, district teams and Student Services Department groups to solve problems and create new opportunities.
P. Works effectively and collaboratively with diverse students, staff and community populations, maintains accurate, complete and confidential records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations

Required Education and Experience
1. Master’s degree in psychology required.
2. Qualified applicants will hold or be eligible to obtain a valid School Psychologist license/certificate issued by Washington State

Preferred Education and Experience
1. Experience in behavioral instructional strategies and training.
