What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher for 2024-25 (Preschool-8th Grade Classrooms) position at Esformes Hebrew Academy?
Esformes Hebrew Academy in Ormond Beach, FL is seeking long-term and on-call substitute teachers to work with all ages. We are a preschool through 8th grade school with substitute needs in all levels. We are currently interviewing for both General and Judaic Studies teachers.
We have part-time (morning or afternoon) and full-time positions available.
Responsibilities:
•Follow the lesson plans provided by the teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.
•Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions, and maintain a positive learning environment.
•Adapt your teaching methods to fit the needs of each class/student.
•Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground, and in the cafeteria.
Desired Characteristics:
•Ability to lead and instruct students of various ages and subjects.
•Punctuality and Patience.
•Strong classroom management with knowledge of Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS)
•Experience in a multi-age classroom.
•Associate's degree or higher, preferably in education.
•Verifiable experience with strong references.
