As an Engineer, Low Voltage (LV) Wire Harness Design Responsible Engineer (DRE), you will play a critical role in the design and development of low-voltage wiring harnesses from concept to production launch. This includes schematic creation, bill of materials management, component selection, and wire harness prints.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop LV wiring harnesses, ensuring compliance with safety standards and U.S. government regulations.
Work with Purchasing and Finance teams to develop technical specifications for quoting and sourcing harnesses and components.
Collaborate with Cariad, VW Group module owners, and suppliers to define and release LV wire harnesses.
Participate in virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
Contribute to the design of production facilities for Scout trucks & SUVs.
Manage supplier resources effectively to meet cost, timing, and quality targets.
Continuously improve designs based on consumer experience feedback.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture while promoting professional development.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
5 years of experience in electrical wire harness design and release within the automotive industry.
Strong expertise in wire harness component design, applying a Six Sigma approach to engineering and problem-solving.
Experience with computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools.
Ability to work cross-functionally with teams across all levels of an organization.
Adaptability to a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a problem-solving mindset.
