What we are looking for:
Yazaki North America is looking for a Wire Harness Manufacturing Training Engineer to join the EDS Core Engineering team in Canton, MI. The Wire Harness Manufacturing Training Engineer leads the hands-on Engineering Training Curriculum at YNCA, developing bilingual training materials, deploying Design for Manufacturing training, and collaborating with global teams. Responsibilities include conducting hands-on training, preparing materials, coaching facilitators, effectively managing technical content, applying learning principles for design engineers as it relates to manufacturing, maintaining training databases, and conducting data analytics to enhance engineering training effectiveness across multiple locations.
What you will be doing:
- Deliver hands-on training for internal design engineers on wire harnesses, components, and manufacturing processes.
- Manage and promote the Engineering Training Curriculum within YNCA using SuccessFactors and internal communication tools.
- Develop and implement Design for Manufacturing training with hands-on exercises, tooling, and visual aids at the Canton campus.
- Create training materials tailored to engineering and manufacturing requirements.
- Train engineers on the fundamentals of wire harness design, component selection, and assembly best practices.
- Work closely with the Global Training Team to identify and deploy best practices for engineering education.
- Coach facilitators and engineers in delivering effective training content and hands-on demonstrations.
- Maintain strong relationships with Training and Engineering Leaders to align programs with business and customer needs.
- Provide training to support customer relations by ensuring engineers understand client-specific requirements and industry standards.
- Populate and manage training databases, tracking participation and effectiveness.
- Conduct engineering resource data analytics to assess training impact and identify improvement areas.
What you will bring to the table:
- Required associate’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Human Resources, or Training. Preferred bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Required: Demonstrated experience for coordinating and delivering Technical Engineering Training; Preferred: Automotive Wire Harness Design or Manufacturing Experience
- Required English language, Preferred Spanish & Japanese
- Required applicationSuccessFactors, Microsoft Suite; Preferred Captivate, Power BI, Video Editing Software for online training
