eShocan is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Design Engineer (Front and Rear Mechanisms) to join our growing team in Southfield, MI . In this role, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing the front and rear components of Lucid's luxury electric vehicles, with a specific focus on hood latch/striker, liftgate latch/striker, hood power struts and liftgate power struts.

- Lead the design and development of hood latch/striker, liftgate latch/striker, hood power struts, and liftgate power struts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers) to define design requirements and specifications for front and rear mechanisms.
- Translate design concepts into detailed 3D CAD models using CATIA V6 or similar software.
- Perform analyses to ensure components meet all safety and performance requirements.
- Effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non- technical audiences.
- Negotiate with suppliers to optimize cost and performance of the components.
- Manage your workload effectively to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Design and analyze mechanical systems and mechanisms, ensuring functionality, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Automotive, or similar)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Closures, with a strong focus on front and rear mechanisms for hood latch/striker, liftgate latch/striker, hood power struts, and liftgate power struts in the automotive industry.
- Proven experience using 3D CAD modeling software (CATIA V6 preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of Design for Manufacturing, including familiarity with GD & T and dimensional engineering.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership qualities (desired)
