Located in Stafford Virginia, the Rouse Center (JRSSC) is a state-of-the-art 76,000 square foot facility that houses a 50-meter competition pool with movable bulkhead and seating for over 800 spectators, a 25-yard recreation pool, a warm-water wellness pool, a group exercise studio, fitness floor, a full-size basketball court, and a full-service cafe to serve guests. The Rouse Center offers cycling, a variety of group exercise classes, swimming lessons, and lifeguarding. The center offers league play for adults in volleyball, basketball, Lil Kickers soccer for children 18 months- 9 years, summer camps, clinics, classes, a J-Club kids area for all those active kids ages 10 weeks -12 years old. The Jeff Rouse Swim and Sports Center is managed by Eastern Sports Management (ESM) based in Fredericksburg, Virginia. ESMs management portfolio consists of venues in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. The Jeff Rouse Swim and Sports Center is currently accepting applications for Before & After School Care counselor. The Before & After Care Counselor is responsible for supervision and safety of youth in Before & After Care programs. The B&A Care Counselor reports directly to the Youth Program Director. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Address issues and concerns as they arise Maintain records, including youth incident and accident reports and participant files Maintain high standards in health and safety during all B&A activities Establish and maintain contact with guardians regarding daily interactions, including childrens behavior, etc. Establish and maintain contact with guardians regarding all participants injuries Aware of youth participants allergies Coordinate activities for assigned group(s) to include, but not limited to, arts & crafts, games, sport activities, learning and development assignments Actively participate in all activities Supervise youth participants Ensure that all participants are provided with snacks and meals Ensure participants board the proper transportation in order to depart facility in a safe and timely manner Ensure participants arrive from associated schools in a safe and timely manner Report all absent children to Supervisor immediately Maintain proper ratios at all times Act as a role model for participants, demonstrating proper attitude and behavior at all times Remains calm and focused in an emergency situation Ensure that all participants are checked in and out, in accordance with FFH B&A procedures Knowledge of Virginia Department of Social Services standards for licensed day care centers Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed, required, or assigned by the Youth Program Director and / or the General Manager
