What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager/Superintendent position at ESN?
Overview:
Project Manager oversees the building of Landscape green-roofs, hardscape, decorative
and ground-scape projects. Project Managers report directly to the Project
Executive. Project Managers is involved from the early stages of development until the
project is completed. Travel areas include primarily City of Chicago, North, South and
Western suburbs. Managers must be flexible and adept at multi-tasking and capable of
running multiple projects at once.
Responsibilities of a Project Manager
- Planning and Time Management – to ensure that projects are completed within set timeframes.
- Resource Management – ensuring that equipment and material is available throughout the building project.
- Financial and Budget Management – making sure that the project is completed within a financial budget.
- Communication – arranging/ attending meetings and ensuring that all stakeholders are aware of the project’s progress.
- Delegation and Motivation – the Project Manager, will be responsible for ensuring that tasks are delegated effectively and foreman remain motivated to complete the project to a high standard.
- General Landscape and Building Construction – the project manager will be relied upon for his superior knowledge of the industry and specific problems.
- Staff Management - The Project Manager will be responsible for managing and allocating tasks to relevant (Local 150) foreman.
Daily/ Weekly Responsibility
- Daily email checks for correspondence from many stakeholders
- Daily check-ins and project updates to the Project Executive
- Preparing progress reports for Vice President and Owner
- Making daily tasks lists and delegating responsibility
- Arranging and leading on regular team meetings with foreman
- Time records of field personal
- Keeping up to date with any policy and legislation changes
- Undertaking site checks to monitor progress
- Dealing with matters arising from stakeholders such as environmental and local
- community issues
- Monitoring budget reports
- Ordering material through Atrium Staff
- Daily instruction to field foreman.
- Infield inspections will account for 70% of time allocation
