What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coach - Football Head/Espanola Valley High School position at Espanola Public Schools?
Must have a NMPED Coaching License
We are seeking motivated individuals to work with students interested in sports, provide necessary structure and preparation for a team to be successful against opposing teams in a sports season. Teach and enforce rules and regulations. Involves work on evenings and weekends.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
Athletic Coaching License, 7-12 High School Diploma or Equivalency AND Must hold or have the ability to obtain an Athletic Coaching License (https://webnew.ped.state.nm.us/bureaus/licensure/how-to-apply/athletic-coach-7-12/) from the New Mexico Public Education Department as well as completing the Fundamentals of Coaching online exam offered through the New Mexico Activities Association. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program (in-season and offseason).
- Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport at the same level of competition.
- The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to
the sport.
- The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.
REPORTS TO: The athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the high school principal.
SUPERVISES: In several instances, the head coach must advise, coordinate and support a staff of high school assistant coaches and middle school coaches in conjunction with the athletic director, athletic coordinator and respective principal.
