Our client, a global Engineering and Architecture Design Firm, is looking to hire a Civil Engineer for their team in Chesapeake, VA.
The Staff Civil Engineer will work on project teams to create world class site designs for new building projects, alterations, and redevelopments on a variety of New site Manufacturing Building projects.
The Staff Civil Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting site civil plans according to budget constraints, design factors, locality requirements, and/or client needs.
Primary Skills and Experience sought:
3 years of experience with a background in Site Design
Strong AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
Doing Hydraulic Modeling for storm water designs
Experience doing full site plans, top priorities:

- Grading
- Storm water
- Perform/assist in civil design and calculations for projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
- Modify and review drawings for a variety of projects.
- Design civil components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers, while incorporating client, local, state, and federal regulations including, but not limited to:
- Site Demolition
- Erosion and Sediment Control
- Grading
- Drainage
- Stormwater Quality/Quantity
- Site Layout
- Sanitary Sewer Layout and Design
- Domestic and Firewater Layout and Design
- Utility Profiles
- Apply strong knowledge of commonly used site civil engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the site civil engineering services industry.
- Research and compile project-related data as required by the project managers. Compile studies and reports. Write specifications.
- Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration.
- Perform field inspections, measurements and/or calculations.
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program.
- 3-8 years of civil engineering experience, consulting preferred.
- Minimum successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam preferred.
- Strong knowledge in site civil engineering techniques and procedures.
- Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bently Software and/or hydraulic, hydrologic, pavement, civil analysis programs).
