Job Title: Value Stream Manager
Location: Kalamazoo, MI
Job Type and Duration: Full-time / Permanent
· Leadership that supports the workplace culture improvement process throughout the workforce and coordinate changes in methods and procedures to improve profitability and operational performance.
· Work on the process, as well as in the process to drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
· Manage budgetary spending. Track and control spending for operating supplies and department labor spend. Use effective leadership to develop entrepreneurial culture across the entire organization.
· Proven leadership with ability to motivate, train, and delegate responsibilities to lead and support the Forming Team to ensure high performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
· Strategic participation in maximization of equipment throughput, preventative maintenance, and process improvement.
· Promote and support training and certification of all employees to enhance career goals, retention and performance improvement.
· Advance Manufacturing Excellence activities/initiatives which will involve lean, changeover reduction, process optimization, and manages priorities/change to drive vision and customer focus.
· Experience in successfully leading in a manufacturing environment
· Experience in thermoforming preferred
· Computer literate in operational systems
· Strong communication skills - verbal and written
Job Duties:
· Reporting directly to and support the facility plant manager in development and execution of strategy to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
· Responsible for all aspects of the value stream on a 24x7 basis
· Actively build a work environment that fosters operational, team and individual excellence by demonstrating effective leadership, communication and people support behaviors.
· Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, plant staff and senior management.
· Management of annual operating plan inside the value stream and deployment of resources to deliver production commitments in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
· Provide leadership to develop safety culture required to achieve and sustain world-class safety performance, including development and execution of effective safety processes.
· Competent in Lean Manufacturing execution, and process based continuous improvement. Provide Leadership to establish a culture of continuous improvement leveraging Lean Manufacturing principles.
· Comply with all local, state and federal regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· BA/BS degree preferred in engineering or business.
· 5 years’ experience in manufacturing operations.
· Management/supervisory experience required.
· Must have financial aptitude, analytical skills, proven leadership effectiveness.
