Job Description
We are a boutique family owned Real Estate management and brokerage firm that focuses on Harlem, Northern Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx. The Management portfolio includes condos, cooperatives, and multifamily apartment buildings. We are a seasoned company and have been in business since 1926.
Our company is seeking an efficient and diligent compliance officer that will be directly responsible for the day to day execution of building compliance, section 8, and LIHTC certifications across our portfolio of buildings. A specific focus will be day to day vision on properties via Site Compli and various city agency portals.
We are looking for an organized and motivated person to join our team. This hire will be a contributor to a managed portfolio of residential properties and report to the Senior Property Manager.
Role Responsibilities
- Monitor project based Section 8 and LIHTC properties for ongoing compliance with all applicable Tax Credit and Section 8 procedures and policies.
- Audit files to ensure compliance with Sec-8, LIHTC program guidelines
- Assist with LIHTC audit preparation.
- Communicate with the property managers and the maintenance team regarding repair tracking related to violation correction and certification.
- Certify HPD, DOB, ECB &HQS violations daily via eCertication or paper and mail.
- Sends out daily email alerts to the Property Management team regarding upcoming HPD, DOB, ECB & HQS Complaint & Violations certification dates.
- Generates and distributes weekly HPD violations report, lead & mold reports (class A, B & C) to track violations due and vendor access dates
- Analyze and organize HPD dismissals with Property Management Team including check request, opening work orders, meeting with Team, status updates, and providing inspection results.
- Obtain access dates & confirm appointments involving HPD Mold & Lead Violations with sites and vendors as needed.
- Track repair access issues and send access letters via certified mail when needed.
- Promptly report to the legal team with back-up documentation related to violations and work completion needed to be commenced.
- Distribute and tracks HPD Annual Safety mailing notices using Site Compli
- Monitor all portfolio buildings on Site Compli to track new violations and compliance deadlines
- Assist in HPD Annual Property Registrations
- Assist in onboarding all city agencies when transitioning a new property
Compliance Officer Qualifications/Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Skilled in time management and the ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to manage agency deadlines and structure calendar planning
· Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree in business, management or real estate preferred)
- 3 Years of previous experience in property management or real estate
- Any required state licensing
- Working knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Covid-19 Vaccinated preferred
Compensation: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
