Overview

Esri Professional Services is seeking a Technical Consultant to lead enterprise GIS implementations and spatial analytics projects. This position plays an important part in delivering transformational geospatial solutions, focusing on commercial, government, and non-profit sectors. This role combines implementation engineering expertise with solution architecture capabilities, leading technical advisory and implementation projects that impact critical business decisions and digital transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Be a thought leader. Help foster a sense of community among industry leaders. Advise customers regarding innovative solutions using Esri technology and content to help them make better decisions. Recommend relevant strategies, architectures, and solutions and work with customers to prepare implementation and migration strategies.
  • Understand our customers and know their business. Be familiar with the mission and operations of our customers including knowledge of common goals and initiatives, procurement cycles, and business processes. Advise customers regarding innovative solutions using Esri technology and content to help them make better decisions.
  • Enable our customers to be successful. Work closely with customers to identify, design, and certify key GIS workflows for the ArcGIS platform. Provide configuration guidance and best practices to customers and understand how Esri's technology enables the customer's stated vision. Collaborate with customer IT organizations to align their technical objectives and business goals with Esri's technology.
  • Develop and grow business. Collaborate with Esri's practice managers and marketing and sales teams to support business development for technology and implementation patterns with new and existing customers. Identify the value of location within customer workflows and drive substantial return on their investment in Esri's enterprise technology and services by creating outstanding proposals and winning work with strategic customers. Present complex GIS technical demonstrations to various levels of technical and non-technical staff in a diverse range of customer organizations.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience designing, implementing, and/or administrating enterprise GIS solutions that leverage the ArcGIS platform (desktop, server, and online)
  • Strong programming and scripting experience with Python, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL, and/or other RDBMS and server environments
  • Knowledge of enterprise system integration (ERP, EAM, CRM, SCM)
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing multiple simultaneous client engagements
  • Experience with current technology implementation patterns including service-oriented architectures and cloud configurations
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Knowledge of geospatial and mapping concepts including spatial analysis and map projections
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to learn in a dynamic cross-functional team environment
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
  • Bachelor's in computer science, geography, GIS, or related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience with ArcGIS, location-based services, geo-enabled apps, and spatial analytics
  • Knowledge of software engineering principles and application development practices
  • Cloud certification (AWS Solution Architect, MCSE Cloud Platform, or equivalent)
  • Experience with Python scripts and Notebooks
  • Master's in computer science, geography, GIS, or related field

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is
$74,880$150,280 USD
