Job Description: Substitute Paraprofessional
Position Overview:
As a Substitute Paraprofessional at ESS, you’ll assist classroom teachers in providing extra support to students, particularly those with special needs. Your role is key in helping students achieve their academic and personal best, whether by reinforcing lessons, supporting individualized needs, or contributing to the smooth running of the classroom.

School Aide, Teacher Assistant, Instructional Aide, One-on-One Aide, Personal Care Assistant
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional support to individual students or small groups to enhance learning.
- Help manage the classroom and assist the teacher in general supervision.
- Assist with tasks like setting up equipment and preparing learning materials.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, field trips, and before or after school programs.
- Attend to students’ academic, physical, and emotional needs.
- Support students with special needs by implementing their IEPs/504 Plans.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the teacher or school administration.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One of the following:
- Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or
- 48 college units beyond high school or
- Successful completion of the district or county test in reading, math, and writing (per the No Child Left Behind Act).
- TB test clearance.
- Department of Justice background check.

Expected hours: 19.00 – 25.00 per week

- 4 hour shift
