Job Summary: Designing, upgrading, and maintaining all production equipment and technology in order to assure highest possible Safety, Quality, and Productivity as well as ensuring that all engineering activities align with the company's overall strategy and goals. Knowledge of chemical engineering processes including reactors, powder handling equipment and waste water treatment as well as PLC automation, programming, and logic are critical. Expertise in Quality engineering principles, specifically Six Sigma, is strongly preferred.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of and respect for chemical industry safety practices.
- Strong technical knowledge of chemical production processes including reactors, powder handling equipment, and waste water treatment.
- Demonstrated expertise in process optimization and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge and experience with control network protocols including EtherNet/IP and Modbus.
- Knowledge and experience with PLC hardware configuration and programming.
- Knowledge of and experience with quality engineering principles, specifically Six Sigma
- Self-motivated individual with a high level of initiative and interest in process improvement.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and pivot in response to changing business needs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, sound organizational skills.
- Proactively initiates, develops, and maintains effective working relationships. Ability to function effectively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to think creatively to find innovative solutions to complex technical challenges
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator.
- Manages CapEx Projects
- Provide root cause analysis
- Improve processes through DMAIC process to collect, record and analyze data to drive production and quality improvement initiatives
- Support and improve the Management of Change (MOC) process
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
