Credit & Collections Manager
Scope
Responsibilities are within a specific business unit and customer segment. Supervise team of credit/collection associates.
Major Responsibilities
- Review aging of assigned portfolio. Monitor assigned accounts as well as those assigned to direct reports. Identify high risk / delinquent accounts and ensure appropriate collection action was taken. Action includes but is not limited to placing orders on hold and contacting customer for payment via email, fax, and/or phone. Document customer contact and collection actions taken in accounts receivable system and physical file as needed. Run monthly dunning reports.
- Make recommendations on accounts receivable reserve for accounts within assigned portfolio. Provide input when placing accounts with a collection agency or third-party attorney.
- Prepare and distribute data on high-risk accounts for monthly calls. Notify sales of delinquent accounts and any actions being taken. Request assistance where appropriate. Develop customer relationships and understand how customer fits into Company strategy. Possess knowledge of credit security instruments and approach customers for security and financial statements as needed.
- Respond to inbound customer, customer care, and sales escalation calls related to inquiries including but not limited to accounts receivable balance, past due issues, and credit limits.
- Review and analyze credit service bureau reporting regularly and recommend changes to credit limit or collection activities as needed.
- Supervise and mentor team of credit/collection associates. Monitor activities, performance manage, set goals, and handle customer escalations. Manage team responsible for approximately 500 accounts and related monthly transactions across multiple systems. Meet monthly with associates to review telephone scorecard and address any performance issues.
- Review and understand customer financial statements. This will include reviewing and analyzing customer's balance sheets and income statements to determine appropriate risk and credit lines. Ability to discuss the risk determination with Credit Management, Sales Management and the customer.
- Manages people, processes, budgets, performance management, compliance activities, and associate development as required by the job.

Skills/Knowledge Required
- Knowledge of credit security instruments
- Ability to approach customers for security and financial statements as needed
- Ability to assess financial risk and discuss with Credit Management, Sales Management and the customer.
- Strong, demonstrated performance management and coaching skills
- Strong working knowledge of credit/collections methods and tools
- Ability to handle large volume of customers and/or transactions.
Education and Experience
- High School or GED diploma required; bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business preferred.
- Minimum seven years of experience required in credit and collection, finance, or treasury; ten years preferred.
- Minimum three years’ supervisory experience required.
- Credit Mangement Certification Preferred.

Salary Range: $89,000-$110,000
