Position Overview :

The Vice President of Engineering will oversee project execution within the telecom / engineering vertical, manage P&L, and lead a team of directors and project managers. This pivotal role requires telco / broadband leadership experience, a strong engineering consulting background, and proven skills in business operations and customer engagement. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with a passion for team development and has thrived in high-growth environments, focusing on team building and new business acquisition.

Key Responsibilities :

P&L and Financial Oversight :

Manage the telecom / engineering P&L, tracking costs and financial performance to ensure alignment with targets.

Leadership and Team Development :

Oversee directors managing project teams, fostering a culture of innovation, responsibility, and accountability.

Mentor directors and promote professional growth.

Project Execution and Client Engagement :

Lead project kick-offs, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with clients needs.

Drive business development by leading, executing, and delivering multiple OSP projects to contract, on budget, and on schedule.

Support the engineering team in process improvement on the Espeed platform.

Strategic Growth and Innovation :

Scale operations, build foundational structures, and develop processes.

Strengthen customer relationships and pursue new opportunities in the telco / broadband sector.

Operational and Quality Excellence :

Ensure projects meet budget and schedule requirements with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Establish and maintain engineering guidelines for quality control across teams and partners.

Utilize KPIs, metrics, and risk mitigation strategies to optimize departmental performance.

Requirements :

The Successful Candidate Will Possess :

Experience :

10 years in engineering consulting, specifically within telecom / broadband, with a record of managing large P&L accounts.

GIS systems experience (e.g., ARCGIS, 3GIS) preferred.

Proven leadership experience in entrepreneurial or mid-sized environments.

Technical Skills :

Proficient in Excel for financial analysis and reporting, with knowledge of project management tools.

Expert knowledge of CAD, GIS mapping software, and telecom engineering techniques.

Education and Certification :

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field.

Professional Engineer preferred.

Leadership and Strategic Skills :

Demonstrated ability to lead change, influence stakeholders, and solve complex issues.

Extensive experience with P&L, estimating, and proposal management.

Familiarity with telecom equipment and engineering methodologies.
