We are hiring a Secondary Machine Operator at our Flippin, AR facility. This is a 3rd shift job and the work hours are 12:00am-8:00am. There is a 20% shift differential for this position. The Secondary Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of secondary machining equipment. This role involves setups, repairs, part replacements, and regular collaboration with the R&D and Maintenance teams to ensure optimal machine performance and product quality.
Typical Accountabilities:
Machine Operator duties include but are not limited to:
- Perform troubleshooting on secondary machining equipment to identify and resolve issues promptly.
- Execute machine setups and adjustments to ensure proper operation according to production specifications.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on equipment, including the replacement of parts such as pneumatic cylinders, proximity switches, lead screws, taps, and part fixtures.
- Sharpen taps of all sizes to maintain the precision and efficiency of machining operations.
- Collaborate with R&D and Maintenance teams to implement improvements and solve complex technical challenges.
- Ensure all machinery is operating safely and efficiently, adhering to company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts used, and any modifications made to the equipment.
- Assist in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance schedules.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Perform related job duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Willingness to learn the process and needs of the Finishing department.
- Attention to details and quality.
- Patience with machines and co-workers; positive attitude toward maintenance and other departments.
- Basic maintenance aptitude with electricity and mechanical knowledge.
- The ability to adapt to all Finishing department maintenance needs.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
