What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Interventionist position at Essex Westford School District?
Essex Westford School District (EWSD) has opportunities for full-time Behavioral Interventionists to become part of our invaluable special education team. The role of a BI is to provide one-on-one behavioral support through Applied Behavior Analysis.
Pay: $22.25 based on experience

On-the-job training is provided to ensure our BIs feel confident and prepared in their roles, including:
- Receive comprehensive training in ABA principles and practices, including discrete trial instruction, prompt hierarchies, social skill development, naturalistic teaching techniques, prevention and management of challenging behaviors, reinforcement procedures, and trauma-informed care.
- Opportunities for initial training and ongoing supervision toward obtaining RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification.
- Foster growth through mentorship and collaboration with experienced professionals.

Primary job duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Adapt classroom materials and methods to meet student needs under guidance from educators and specialists.
- Foster social interaction and inclusivity among students in regular school settings.
- Accompanied students on community activities and field trips.
- Maintain records of student data and assist in administrative tasks.
- Keep detailed records of student progress using various assessment tools.
- Attend team meetings to develop student plans and discuss needs.
- Attend training sessions and professional development activities as required.
