Logistics Technician
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform the daily activities for a high quality, low cost, on time shipping team. Be a team member that fully shares in the continuous improvement of the
logistics team. Maintain a constant flow of communication and information to the logistics and RST teams regarding the warehouse and customer needs.
Responsible for safety, development, trainings, shipping, customer satisfaction and finished goods inventory accuracy.
THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
- Participate in the Safety Index to help site meet its safety goals
- Report Unsafe Conditions, Near Misses, and complete BOS observations and provide meaningful feedback
- General understanding of distribution functions (warehouse layout, packing list, material flow, FIFO, inspect trailers, and shipping)
- Ensure good housekeeping and organization in logistics
- Comply with all safe work practices
- Operate lift truck (clamp and fork)
- Identify opportunities to promote continuous warehouse improvements
- Work with Distribution/Distributor Relations and other teams to accomplish a specific task
- Pick and ship UPS, truck loads, and LTL shipments
- Perform data entry
- Communicate with appropriate team members
- Analyze and implement an action plan to resolve customer complaints
- Actively confront and resolve behaviors and conditions in a timely manner

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
- High School or GED required
EXPERIENCE:
- Good working knowledge of warehouse
- Customer focus
- Strong safety conscience
- Ability to maintain high housekeeping standards
- Positive “can do” attitude
- Ability to operate a lift truck and spotter safely
- Maintain high reliability in attendance
- Good written and communication skills
- Proven ability to improve the areas they work in
- Ability to multi-task
- Flexible to work 7-day work schedule and rotate shifts as business needs require
- Ability to ship LTL and UPS shipments with accuracy
- Date entry and computer skills
- Warehouse management system knowledge a plus
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to quickly respond to change (flexibility)
