At Essity: This Is What We Do
Accountable for packaging specification, for primary, secondary and tertiary packaging for articles produced in area of responsibility Responsible for defining construction and dimensions on primary and secondary packaging, optimization of pallet utilization, packaging quality fulfillment and specification creation and ownership. Responsible for defining space on primary and secondary packaging for design elements. Responsible for performance and manufacturability of pack specifications within mandatory parameters in accordance with tender requirements and market demands, including delivery according to agreed timings and launch plans. Proactively drive and/or initiate improvement programs regarding quality, logistics, material changes, cost savings and target assortment related to packaging. Participate in feasibility studies and make recommendations for market requests on packaging Provide technical support to the European markets in area of responsibility.
About the Role
The Global Product Management (GPM) department, part of Business Unit Health and Medical, is a strong contributor to the Incontinence business, responsible for driving and owning the TENA incontinence assortment. GPM has a key decision making and business-oriented role and cooperates closely with Markets, Global Brand, Innovation and Sustainability, R&D, Factories and Technology. In the Packaging Solutions Team, we create, own and maintain Packaging Solutions and specifications for our Incontinence assortment to fulfill the needs of the business.
The role as Technical Packaging Manager is responsible for securing competitive, relevant, and cost-effective packaging solutions, and bring them to market. All in line with the overall business strategy.

What You Will Do
- Create, own, and maintain technical packaging solutions for the Incontinence assortment.
- Balance all packaging attributes and requirements to initiate packaging specifications improvement on current packaging assortment including primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging – bags/cartons, transport boxes and pallet.
- Drive, coordinate, and implement packaging cost and quality improvement as well as new packaging initiated from markets in close cooperation with packaging suppliers and factories.
- Participate in Packaging development in Innovation Projects, in cooperation with R&D Packaging.
- Develop, verify, and validate packaging solutions that meet project goals and are suitable for the whole supply chain.
- With a holistic view, drive packaging activities and cooperate with main stakeholders e.g. Suppliers, Factories, Market representatives, Sourcing, Technology, Technical Article Managers, R&D, and Graphical Design Specialists.
- Create and Manage packaging specifications in SAP.
Who You Are
- University degree in Business or Engineering.
- Relevant working experience, preferably from packaging development.
- Understanding and experiences in product development methodologies.
- Experience from SAP/PLM or similar systems.
- Ability to work in international network.
- Project management skills.
- Fully proficient in English, both verbally and written.
- Ability to travel 20-40 days per year.

Your analytical abilities make it easy for you to see the bigger picture and identify a variety of alternative solutions to problems that may occur.
