Premier Packaging is a fast growing, forward thinking provider for all packaging needs. From corrugated, warehouse solutions, design & engineering to packaging supplies. We are currently looking for a strong Project Manager to help support our Bin Box Projects. Bin Box Projects are part of Premier’s turnkey solution for warehouse storage. Premier assesses the customer’s needs, designs appropriate solutions, and mobilizes a team to assemble and install corrugated storage bins within a customer’s facility.
Project managers are responsible for guiding these types of assignments; adhering to the scope, schedule, and budget while ensuring a quality product is delivered to the customer. This position reports to the Senior Project Manager.
Essential Functions
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of each projects scope and goals.
- Learn the assembly instructions for each bin type and then train others on proper assembly.
- Understand the form, fit, and function of all bin types to ensure the uniform production of bins and negate non-conforming product.
- Assess and approve assembly line set-up for most efficient workflow.
- Directly manage 8 to 10 shift supervisors and team leads on a project.
- Coach and mentor supervisors and team-leads. Be able to recognize their strengths and weaknesses and place them appropriately. Make recommendations on DNR’s (do not return). Treat all employees with respect.
- Hold shift supervisors accountable for daily reporting of production counts. Track and report those numbers within Premier’s PM management system.
- Coordinate manpower needs and shift requirements with shift supervisors and Premier’s staffing providers.
- Track inventory and delivery of raw materials to ensure constant flow of product. Communicate with Premier material coordinators to adjust delivery schedules as needed. Make proactive adjustments in staffing, material, and workflow to continually meet or exceed the project schedule and estimated rates.
- Ability to communicate at a high level with customer contacts onsite. Listen to their requests and concerns and develop plans of action to address those needs in a timely manner.
- Keep customer contacts continually aware of progress and communicate barriers to success that they are able to help remove.
- Develop professional, helpful contacts and mutually beneficial relationships with other customer vendors onsite.
- Ensure compliance with the client’s safety and security program.
- Coordinate daily housekeeping to remove waste and packing materials.
- Responsible for smooth transitions between shifts and ensuring each shift is setup and all company property is accounted for. Report thefts, losses or damages.
- Direct quality assurance audits as necessary.
- Guarantee all supervisors are reviewing and approving all temp labor time for payroll. Compile and approve all Project Supervisor time on a weekly basis and forward to Premier HR for payroll.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED required. B.S./B.A. in a business concentration preferred
- Strong verbal and written skills.
- Utilize E-mail, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
- Capable of learning and utilizing PM software and business expense software for daily, monthly reporting requirements.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time wisely.
- Ability to make sound decisions regarding production and personnel issues.
- Lift up to 25 lbs alone and up to 50 lbs assisted.
- Both stand and sit for an eight to ten-hour shift.
- Must be able to travel up to 70%
Qualifications
Salary : $50,000 - $65,000
