The Estée Lauder Companies is seeking a full-time UI/UX Designer to join the Global Product team in New York. The Global UX Team works on creating the best-in-class customer experience globally for Estée Lauder Companies brands, as Estée Lauder, MAC Cosmetics, Clinique, Aveda, Origins, Smashbox, Jo Malone, Bobbi Brown, Darphin, Too Faced, among others.
The Senior Manager, UI/UX Design will collaborate on the Global Product team with other designers, product managers and developers, navigating between multiple trains to design omni-channel experiences (online and in stores) They will work as part of the Global UX team of researchers and designers, with a specific focus on design, ensuring design and strategy throughout the customer experience are well-tested, seamless, and intuitive.

Responsibilities

- Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship for a team of UX Designers; lead creative and holistic thinking across diverse product releases, platforms, and devices.
- Deliver a UX vision, along with a plan for evolutionary, iterative updates, that actualize the larger vision over time.
- Build strong relationships and operating rhythms with leaders inside and outside their core product team to efficiently implement user experiences that are cohesive, inclusive, and well-informed.
- Foster ELCO and LUX culture and principles within the group, while setting new standards in executional and operational excellence.
- Be responsible for and effectively advocate for users in a fast-paced, corporate climate, imparting day-to-day design leadership that fosters a shared understanding of the user-centric intersection between design, content, business, and engineering
- Support your global product team in building and evolving your internal practices
- Research and design deliverables as needed depending on project scope(s)
- Create and execute research plans across qualitative and quantitative user research, moderate studies and analyze findings across the product lifecycle to articulate human-centered problems
- Drive strategy and priorities through data analytics, outcome-based measurements and clear, actionable recommendations
- Support Engineers and Product teams in understanding their customer
- Communicate and articulate the value of UX and the rationale behind your research process and recommendations, bringing the team along your journey
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in UX
- 2-3 years of experience at a senior level
- Strong prototyping, branding and graphic development skills
- Experience with Sketch and Adobe Creative Cloud and Abstract
- Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Computer Science, HCI, or a related field
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the design process; creating user flows and wireframes to build user interface mockups and prototypes
- Track record of designing and shipping successful platform experiences for consumer users or ability to work within a highly complex and collaborative environment.
- Mastery using design tools such as Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite
- Proficiency in prototyping with tools such as InVision and Figma
- Experience with ecommerce and social platforms in beauty or luxury (a plus)
- Experience working in an Agile environment, collaborating on JIRA, Confluence
- Experience working with research, testing and data/KPI to drive decision making
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative research as well as agile / lean methodologies to choose the best methods for planning & execution of user research projects
- Ability to strategically present UX work holistically
- Experience creating common user research outputs such as Personas, User Journeys, Empathy Maps and with tools such as Sketch, Abstract, Figma, Optimal Workshop, Usertesting
- Demonstrates ability to manage multiple priorities on concurrent, rigorous deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strategic and critical thinking capabilities across business/technology vision, solutions, strategy, roadmaps and portfolio delivery

Preferred qualifications:
- Experience balancing product, development, and user-centered goals to help shape overall product strategy.
- Experience working on a product from inception to shipment.

- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex interaction concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $108,500 to $178,500. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
