Job Brief :
The Sales and Events Manager will help position Estes Park as a premier destination for groups, meetings, conferences, reunions, weddings, and other special events. This position is responsible for actively soliciting new business opportunities through prospecting customers, seeking methods to penetrate key business activities within the marketplace and finding profitable ways to bring this business to Estes Park. This dynamic role combines sales expertise with hands-on event support, contributing to the organizations mission of creating a year-round visitor economy.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute successful sales strategies, including, but not limited to, conducting sales missions, hosting site visits and familiarization trips, attending trade shows and hospitality events and implementing direct sales initiatives to secure targeted room night revenue and positively impact Estes Park's tourism economy.
- Manage and maintain all account information and respond to all incoming RFPs within Visit Estes Park's customer relationship management system.
- Directs implementation and execution of sales policies and practices.
- Ensures communications are coordinated, supporting sales plan objectives, and meeting organizational expenditure requirements in conjunction with the Marketing Department.
- Maintain positive lodging properties and key stakeholder relationships by delivering qualified, well-researched leads and business opportunities to stakeholder groups.
- Research information on markets and trends, providing relevant data to stakeholders.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive revenue that aligns with Visit Estes Parks goals and operating plan.
- Conduct prospecting and outreach efforts to generate leads specifically targeting shoulder seasons and other identified needs periods.
- With Marketing oversight, collaborate on creating group-focused marketing assets, including, but not limited to, a meetings and events planning guide and video sizzle reel to accompany RFP submissions to align sales strategies with broader destination marketing objectives.
- Serve as a liaison between clients and local service providers to ensure seamless event coordination
- Assist vendors during setup and teardown to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with the development, coordination and execution of VEP signature events in tandem with the senior destination development manager.

Qualifications & Requirements :
Salary range : $65K - $85K annually, based on full-time status

This is a hybrid position that can be worked remotely on average up to 2 days per week. However, there are times when work must be performed in the destination, such as attending destination events, stakeholder meetings, being onsite for VEP team events, covering office work, etc.
