Quality control technician
REPORTS TO: Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Control Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance of our health supplement products. This position involves performing precise and accurate microbiological analyses and utilizing various analytical techniques and instruments. The technician will be responsible for testing raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Chemical Analysis
- Perform routine and non-routine chemical analyses of food products, raw materials,
and packaging materials using techniques such as HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, and
titration.
- Develop, validate, and implement analytical methods to ensure accuracy and
reliability of test results.
Quality Control
- Conduct quality control tests to ensure products meet internal and regulatory
standards.
- Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential quality issues.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all analytical work performed.
Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure all analyses comply with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, ISO).
- Prepare and review technical reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality documentation.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and
information.
Laboratory Maintenance
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instruments to ensure they are
functioning correctly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
Research and Development
- Collaborate with R&D teams to support product development and improvement
initiatives.
- Conduct research to optimize analytical methods and improve testing efficiency.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, and R&D.
- Provide technical support and training to junior staff and other departments as
needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field.
- Minimum two years experience with analytical techniques in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in the use of laboratory instruments such as HPLC, GC, NMR, ICP-MS, FT-NIR, UV-Vis
- Thorough understanding of food chemistry, quality control principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with CGMP, GLP, and HACCP standards.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Adaptability and willingness to take on new tasks and challenges as needed.

Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
