Objective:

Etain is seeking an Assistant Retail Manager to join our growing team in the cannabis industry. This individual possesses a passion for the cannabis industry, a working understanding of retail operations, and exceptional customer service. The person in this position should possess the ability to effectively lead and communicate with a large and diverse team. In addition to working with the team and customers this role will have responsibilities in inventory management, visual merchandising, and overall retail operations. The goal of this position is to provide additional support to the store manager as well as leadership throughout the dispensary.

Essential Functions:

Store Operations Management:

• Collaborate with the Store Manager to ensure the successful execution and allocation of all store responsibilities.
• Support dispensary inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, conducting regular audits, and implementing efficient restocking procedures.
• Conduct cash audits and maintain strict compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Work closely with the Store Manager to develop and implement effective employee schedules, ensuring optimal staffing levels to meet customer demand.
• Provide guidance and support in visual merchandising efforts to enhance the overall store aesthetic and promote product visibility.
Conduct regular compliance audits in line with company and state expectations. Maintain strict records in accordance with company policy.

Customer Service and Satisfaction:

• Champion a customer-centric approach, ensuring a welcoming and informative environment for all customers.
• Conduct shift meetings setting the expectations for the day and keeping teams informed of store initiatives and customer feedback.
• Monitor and evaluate customer flow and support the sales floor team with processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including cash handling and utilizing point-of-sale systems.
• Collaborate with the Store Manager and team members to resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and product knowledge, to provide accurate information and recommendations to customers.
• Organize and communicate with store teams.

People Management and Managerial Support:

• Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth, work with HR and leadership to execute training programs, onboarding, and employee recognition.
• Establish a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and inclusivity.
• Partner with HR and Store manager to resolve any employee situations.
• Assist the dispensary manager in various projects, including inventory audits, staff training, and process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement operational strategies for enhanced efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Provide input and feedback on employee performance to support performance evaluations and growth opportunities.

Work Environment:

This is a retail and office position. Physical requirements include standing and walking for 8 hours, and the ability to lift to 50 pounds. Movement throughout the dispensary will be required to perform supervisory activities. This position will primarily operate only within dispensary hours of operation, but occasional late nights or early mornings will be required to open/close the dispensary, facilitate deliveries and pickups, or oversee maintenance. This position may require you to operate a company vehicle to support the delivery of products to patients and customers. Dispensary hours include weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree - Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Talented leader with 5 years of experience in a high-volume retail environment.
• Retail operations knowledge, including inventory control, loss prevention, retail POS systems, merchandising, customer service and budget preparation.
• Demonstrated track record in driving revenue and increasing store productivity.
• Communication and reporting skills necessary for management of a team and for reporting to upper management in a clear and effective manner.
• Financial acumen is necessary to compile and present reports on dispensary volume and to determine areas where there are further opportunities.
• Team player with the ability to gain consensus through collaboration and open dialogue.

Other Duties

• Possible travel to other dispensaries to support store operations, take part in or provide training, and collaborate cross functionally.
Participation and support in Etain events and partnership events.
