Accounting Manager

Ethos Consulting is retained by our client for a hybrid Accounting Manager located in the Wilmington, NC area. They are in growth mode and this is an exciting time.

SUMMARY:

The accounting manager oversees a small team of accountants and supervises the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports for the business. You will partner with all levels/departments within the organization.

• Supports the Company’s monthly close process, including reviewing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, performing variance and trend analyses, researching transactions for proper accounting treatment, preparing financial reports, completing rapid period-end closes and meeting all required deadlines
• Ensures all expenses, receipts, and other transactions for the accounting period are accurately posted
• Analyze monthly operating and financial results, including preparing internal reporting deliverables, analyzing trends & drivers, and explaining budget/forecast vs. actual variances
• Participates in annual audits and special projects, including system implementations; works with the controller and auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes
• Support operations team to ensure they have the data and information they need to run the business
• Coach and mentor Associate accountants, including monitoring workload allocations
• Assists with special projects and other related duties as may be assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree required; CPA strongly preferred
• 5 years related experience (2-3 years of public accounting experience strongly preferred)
• Experience in technical accounting preparing financials
• Significant experience working with business team to review results, understand business drivers, and closely manage costs
• NetSuite Experience a plus, but not required
• Broad and in-depth knowledge of GAAP and other accounting and reporting standards
• Previous experience in a company with annual revenue over $50M
