What are the responsibilities and job description for the Geotechnical Technician position at ETHOS Talent and Advisory?
We are a multi-faceted Geotechnical, Materials Testing and Erosion consulting firm based in Vancouver, Washington. Responsibilities
- Perform construction observations on commercial & residential construction projects
- Field monitoring and compaction testing nuclear gauge methods, associated laboratory testing (maximum density curves, sieve analysis, moisture content of soils, etc.)
- Prepare daily field reports on observed activities, providing clear documentation of findings and density test results
- Perform soil sampling, test pit logging, and site observations
- Work with project personnel and clients to ensure that specifications are followed
- Will be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments
- Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects
- Maintain assigned equipment
Qualifications
- 2 years of directly related work experience. Recent soil engineering graduates are welcome to apply
- ICC Soils Special Inspection certification is preferred but not required
- ACI Concrete Field Technician certification is preferred but not required
- Nuclear density gauge certification preferred
- Ability to work independently and perform multiple project tasks concurrently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid Driver’s license with clean driving record

Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
