What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Estimator position at EthosEnergy Group?
Ethos Energy are currently recruiting Cost Estimator to join the team in Chicopee, MA. Responsible for providing assistance to the proposals, commercial and estimation teams providing dependable cost estimates and project evaluations. Contribute to the Company vision of creating fast, dependable and creative solutions for its customers.
Job Responsibilities
- Review RFQ and other documentation. For example, drawings, details to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Research past job histories, etc.
- Consult with clients, suppliers and purchasing, as well as personnel in other departments and supervisors to discuss and formulate estimates.
- Review material and labor requirements, to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components. Sourcing of raw materials and OSV operations/processes.
- Opening of new quote numbers within Epicor.
- Process customer’s enquiries, which normally arrive in the form of an e-mail with limited data. Coordinate with the commercial team to obtain any missing documentation needed to create cost.
- Ensure compliance with the Company’s documented Quality and HSE System’s.
- Ensure compliance to ascertain the correct MSR to any given material and product line. Ie, Gas or Steam components.
- Enter cost into Epicor using the appropriate part configurator.
- Update business contract annually with latest material and labor changes.
Required Skills / Knowledge
- The ability to multi-task and change focus in an ever-changing environment..
- Ability to understand blue prints and complex Bills of Materials, estimate labor, raw material, tooling or outside operations, packaging and any other cost associated with the range of parts for manufacturing.
- Highly organized and efficient.
- A team player and the ability to take responsibility for own work environment and that of others.
- Commitment to Quality Management.
- Familiarity with reading technical documents
- Self-starter – minimal guidance.
- Sound understanding of the engineering workflow for a project, and management of priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Experience
- Experience ERP systems, preferable Epicor.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in estimating role or closely related role.
- Experience in Steam and Gas industry.
Education Requirements
- Associate degree in Mechanical engineering or accredited certificate.
Physical Requirements
- Light physical effort or significant manual dexterity.
- Primary functions require sufficient physical ability to work in an office and workshop setting and operate relevant equipment.
- Walking, sitting and standing for prolonged period of time.
