Our Aerospace & Defense business seeks a Manual Machinist to join our team of engineers and production personnel located in Duncan South Carolina. This FAA regulated aerospace and aviation workshop operates to repair and overhaul a variety of parts and equipment from our clients across multiple industry sectors. This position is primarily responsible for the setup, programming and operation of all machine shop equipment making tools, fixtures and other materials. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 2 years' experience using conventionally operated milling machines, lathes, surface grinding machines, mills (EDM), etc. Important to note that part of our pre-employment screening process requires ability to pass a lab-based drug screen as per FAA and DOT regulations. Success in this role requires characteristics such as excellent attention to detail, a "can-do" attitude and ability to adhere to important health, safety and environmental compliancy regulations. This position requires the ability to work in a team-based atmosphere, as well as independently.

- Perform quality work on conventional operated milling machines, lathes, and surface grinding machines
- Use of Measuring and Test Equipment to ensure all dimensional requirements are met
- Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines
- Interpret and comprehend blueprints, diagrams, & written process instructions
- Work with engineers, production personnel, and others to resolve issues
- Inspect and document machinery for any needed repairs
- Make minor repairs on machinery as needed
- Any other duties as required by the Company
- Ability to comply with Company policies & procedures and important HS&E rules and regulations
- Skilled in computer software (MS Office, Word, Excel and internet navigation)
- Strong ability to operate manual machine shop equipment, lathes, mills EDM, as well as CNC machines
- Knowledge of machine shop theory, shop mathematics and layout techniques
- Excellent oral and written communication (English) as per FAA regulations
- Skilled in the use of dimensional measuring equipment
- Ability to machine and measure to close tolerances (.0002”) as required
- Interpret complex blueprint specifications and charts
- Ability to follow work orders and engineering instructions (as needed) in accordance with ASME Y14.5
- Operate well within a diverse team environment as well as ability to work independently
- Provide guidance to peers to resolve repair/overhaul problems
- Multitask to meet deadlines and demands in a time efficient manner
- 2 - 4 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- College or vocational high school education in machining and machining practices
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Certificate of completion of college or high school machining courses.
