DEFINITION
Under supervision of the administrator for special programs and identified principals to provide occupational therapy to students with exceptional needs.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This is a classified position with responsibility for developing and implementing an educational related occupational therapy program for qualifying students; developing special education students’ success in interpersonal skills, concept development and personal management to increase their independence.

Any combination equivalent: Training and experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge and abilities detailed above. Typical qualifying experience would include: one year of recent, full-time equivalent, paid, supervised experience in occupational therapy, including pediatrics and sensory motor evaluation and training, experience working in a variety of settings including clinic, school, and home, and experience working as a member of a transdisciplinary team. Additional experience working collaboratively with families, and in teaching, is desirable.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE
B.A. in Science from an accredited university.
Valid California Board of Occupational Therapy License.
Valid registration with the National Board Occupational Therapy Certification Board.
